Read on Wattpad.

Asalaam ,hey my loves.

Whether you’re a die-hard reader or just getting into it, this is the app for you! I thought I’d do a little review on this reading app, seeing as I’ve been using it for quite some time. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a paperback kind of girl however, sometimes it’s just simpler to read a book online. Some of these books have not been published yet and I’m not quite prepared to deprive myself of the work of such inspirational authors (certainly not because they’re not bound together in book form!).

My background with books

As a child, reading was not the easiest thing to do. On the contrary, it brought on a lot of anxiety. To this day, I dread reading aloud or in front of anyone for that matter. Nevertheless, over the years, my love for reading has grown exponentially. I have found comfort, joy, love and even friendship in books. Reading became my escape from reality (especially when I needed to breathe). It was as if I could be anyone or anywhere in the world. With each book, I created a new, and improved, version of myself. I would create someone I wanted to be or someone that wasn’t me at all. Of course, the best part of my escape is having the capacity to experience new things whilst in my safe haven (a.k.a my bedroom).

Wattpad in a nutshell

Wattpad grants you the opportunity to simultaneously read books. Authors are constantly publishing so you’re guaranteed to find something to read! You are able to ‘follow’ your favorite authors and you are instantly notified when a book in your library has been updated.

In order to read a book, you would be required to download it first.

Tip: Read the prologue and few pages of the first chapter before you commit and download. This will save you from unnecessary use up your data.

Once your book has been downloaded, unless it needs an update, an internet connection is not required to access   the book. All you have to do is download the Wattpad app from the link below and create an account.

Wattpad has been my source of solace for quite some time now. If you’re like me, without a reading light, the enjoyment of reading gets compromised when it gets dark or late (it’s really just a hassle). If you’re a student or on a budget, the harsh reality is that hardcopies have become expensive! I suggest you give Wattpad a try. It might just work out better than you expected!

The first book I read on this app was “Not quite fifteen” by Whitney / @wheadee

Basically, it’s about two freshmen who have a one-night stand. They end up just going with the flow and at some point, one of them realizes that they might be in over their head. The following book portraits the difficulties of young love, how easily we forgive and the hurt we felt when the ones we trust do not stand up for us.

Although my reading choices have changed, as I have, I often find myself going back to re-read this book.

This is a segment I would like to do weekly (or try to at least). Let me know if you would like me to post my reading list. Maybe we could all start a Wattpad book club!
